Our Story · เรื่องราวของเรา
We opened this restaurant
for the children.
We have kept this promise since 2019 — when we opened in September and had to close in December, as the silence of a tourism-less, income-less pandemic fell over our Mai Khao community.
When we reopened in 2021, the hardship that everyone in Phuket had endured changed us. We chose to build a sharing business — a restaurant whose profits would go toward developing 120 young children at Ban Mai Khao School. In 2022, Michelin gave us the opportunity to grow, and we haven't looked back.
Our model is rooted in something real. It begins with a great-grandmother whose recipes have fed our family for over a century. A chef who grew up in this house, who loves to cook, who absorbed อาม่า's teaching: "Good food starts with good ingredients." We source from Phuket's own communities — ผักลิ้นห่าน from Mai Khao farmers who have revived a coastal crop into a family business; Phuket Lobster from the Moken sea people of Tha Chatchai; and GI-certified Phuket Pineapple from growers who have tended this land for generations.
Years on, our guests love the food. The community earns more. The children have a safer school — its classrooms repaired from our profits. We are grateful for the fate that brought everyone to this red table: a neighbourhood restaurant that grows, together, and sustainably.
"Cook like home. Source with care. Feed with love."
